CSRDN is a Canadian Muslim organization with multi faith representation which formed in 2014 in response to the Syrian catastrophe which is the greatest humanitarian disaster since WW2

Our Goal is to assist refugees suffering persecution come to Canada and assist them in the process of migration and in resettlement in Canada
We have been inspired by our Islamic values:
God says in the Holy Qur’an chapter 3 verse 110
“You are the best of people raised for all of humanity because you enjoin good and forbid evil and believe in God”

We believe it is our moral duty to stand up for justice and fairness and work collectively for global peace . We can only be the best of the people if we stand up for the truth and speak out against injustice and forbid evil and harm – this is our collective responsibility and to achieve this we must work together and ensure that every life is cared for as we know that every life is precious and equally valued.

CSRDN strives to help all people – all of God’s creation -regardless of ethnicity or religion
The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him ) used to regularly donate money in charity to people of all faiths and advised us to “donate in charity to people of all faiths”
He also said “whoever goes to sleep with a full stomach while his neighbour is hungry is not a believer”

CSRDN has worked closely with the local Churches and Synagogues as well as other places of worship as we share our values of love and respect for all people with the Jews, Christians and people of all faiths members of CSRDN formed Abraham’s Children Together with the United Church and the Oakville Synagogue and jointly sponsored a Syrian family of 7 people who arrived in Canada in December of 2015.

CSRDN has partnered with Oakville Neighbours Helping Refugees (ONHR) and supported the sponsorship of 2 families 1 of whom have already arrived and are settling in the Mississauga area.

CSRDN is partnering with St Johns Church of Oakville and have jointly sponsored a Syrian family expected to arrive this year from Turkey.

CSRDN is working with a local Group of 5 and is supporting another family migrate to Canada originally from Aleppo .

CSRDN assisted 2 Syrian refugee families resettle in Hamilton in 2015

CSRDN partnered with Islamic Relief and supported a winterization project for a refugee camp in Jordan

CSRDN has held press conferences with media press releases highlighting the issue of the Syrian war as well as the plight of the refugees and followed closely the Atkinson Foundation series of articles written by Peter Goodspeed Star writer.
CSRDN has spoken out regarding the current bombing campaign which is targeting children, civilians, doctors , hospitals and even refugee camps. The current bombing campaign is against the Geneva Convention.

The Geneva Conventions of 1949 confirmed PROTECTION for civilians, hospitals, and medical staff, and the 1977 Additional Protocols to the conventions state: “The civilian population and individual civilians shall enjoy general protection against the dangers arising from military operations.”
We greatly appreciate the support of our community in achieving our goals
Please join CSRDN and help us to help those suffering today without the basic necessities of life

As Canadians we have a long history of helping people in need
We have been greatly blessed and we are known globally as a just and generous nation.
Together we stand for those who are oppressed and persecuted without food, clean water or shelter.
Together we do our part to prevent death and destruction.
Together we bring a smile to a child’s face
Together we give new hope and a chance at a new life
